1. JOHN¹ COCHRAN was born Abt. 1670 in Northern Ireland, and died Abt. 1730 in Northern Ireland. He married GRACE ? [NEE?] COCHRAN Abt. 1690 in Northern Ireland.

Notes for JOHN COCHRAN:
V'Anne Cochran Didzun mentioned to me one time that Rosalie Bork Harnden had done a lot of work on the Cochran family history. Among the many pages of information Rosalie sent to me was a note made in July, 1862 by a J. L. Cochran from information in the Cochran family Bible. My guess is that the information in the family Bible was written by or at the behest of Amos Glass Cochran, and that J. L. Cochran is Amos Glass Cochran's grandson John L. Cochran. Amos indicates that his father's name is Glass, and that his grandfather is Robert. Amos goes on to write that Glass Cochran's grandfather (Robert's father) is John Cochran. Too bad he wasn't as specific about John Cochran's wife. Hopefully this note will unearth the family Bible. I've heard that someone in Texas has the original.

Notes for GRACE ? [NEE?] COCHRAN:
We don't know Grace's maiden name as yet. In fact we don't know her first name either. I'm assuming that the family followed tradition and named their first daughter, Grace in this case, after the mother. Hopefully there is a reference in a misplaced family bible or some other record that will help us.

	ii.		SAMUEL ? COCHRAN, b. Abt. 1691.

Notes for SAMUEL ? COCHRAN:
Relationship of Samuel to Robert is very unclear. Apparently there are references and possibly gravestones for Robert and a Samuel, but little more information. It's possible that Samuel could be a cousin.
