Thomas Daugherty (b. October 21, 1779, d. October 19, 1834)
Thomas Daugherty was born October 21, 1779, and died October 19, 1834 in Upson County, GA. He married Sarah Tomlin on March 14, 1813 in Morgan County, GA, daughter of Mr. Tomlin and Sarah Tanner.
Notes for Thomas Daugherty: Thomas Dougherty listed in the list of first property owners and the first census of Upson county in 1824-1825. He is also listed as a head of household in the 1830 Upson Co. census.
From Diann Cloud: I'm not sure where Thomas Sr. is buried but it is somewhere in Upson Co. Ga. He was one of the original settlers there, had 200+ acres, and when he died Sarah and some of the children continued to live ther until the late 1850's when she sold the land and gave the children their inheritance.
In a pension application that Sarah had filled out in 1880, it stated that Thomas died Oct. 19, 1834 in Upson Co. Ga. This pension application was filed in Randolph Co. Ala. I suppose that Sarah died in or around Randolph Co. Ala. I haven't found anything so far.
From Jennie Daugherty-Howarth: The son named Jacob is my ancestor.
