James McAfee¹¹ was born Abt. 1820 in Pennsylvania, and died date unknown. He married Elizabeth Minton on August 30, 1845 in Claiborne County, Tennessee¹².

1880 census shows James was born in Pa. This was information shown with his son William in Lee County Virginia and his son Robert in Harlen County, Kentucky

July 1860, Lee county Virginia does not list James with his family.

James moved from Hancock County, Tennessee to Bell County, Kentucky and back to Lee County, Virginia and in about 1865 or 1866 he left one night and was not heard from again.
