Notes for Lloyd Coleman Davenport, Sr.: Friends and family knew my father as 'Lot' ... he was a self taught self made man... I understand that he only had an 8th grade education... But, he was an excellent artist, well versed in electronics (as it was at that time), and an avid decoy carver and painter. He also enjoyed collecting and restoring antique guns and rifles and had an extensive arrowhead collection. He was a true jack of all trades... he painted houses, restored old boats, fixed about anything mechanical and even built our home at 29 Burton Ave., Crisfield, Maryland with help from his half brother, Seward Evans and a couple other of his friends. He was a Master Sargent in the Crisfield National Guard for many years. Dad worked for the C & P Telephone company up until his death, with over 20 years service - and was even the 'Manager' for Crisfield back when every town had a manager. His true passion was music... he adored Patsy Cline, Jim Reeves and most Big Band leaders and his pride and joy was his hi-fi stereo system... Both he and Mom almost always worked two or more jobs as we were growing up... after all, it wasn't easy raising five 'crumb snatchers' as they used to say in Crisfield...
