13. From: Alice Laughlin Maring; " Nicholas Maring born in Germany in1728. Emigrated to Delaware Colony in 1750. Fought in the Revolution. He had two sons; one married Virginia Monroe and the other a Delaware Burns, both names indicate Scottish origin. The son had issue who moved to Belmont County, Ohio, then on to the frontier. They had issue who moved to Appanoose County, Iowa, where there may have been some cousin marriages."
