He married (1) EthelIreneNorman 30 April 1932 in Cardiff, Glamorgan, South Wales.. She was born 10 May 1906 in Barry, Glamorgan, South Wales., and died 31 October 2001 in Llandough Hospital, near Cardiff, South Wales. (age 95). She was the daughter of John Norman and Annie Elizabeth Hicks.
Notes for Sidney Thomas Price:
Sidney, also known as Tom was born at 5 Bishop Street, Grangetown. He had nine brothers and sisters, Fred, George, Leonard, Violet, Nelly, May, Gladys, Dolly and Nancy. Tom drove lorries for Hills Transport, Dinas Powis, before he came to Barry, where he laboured for the council. Tom enjoyed growing vegetables on his allotment. During World War 2 (1939 - 1945) Tom was sent to Manchester on war work, he didn't like it at all and was sent home on health grounds. Tom wasn't allowed to go to war due to a leg injury sustained when he was kicked by a horse. Tom was an Air Raid Warden in Barry during the war. He would walk around the town with his bucket of water and pump ready to extinguish any incendiary devices, and knock on the doors if any windows weren't blacked out. After the war he returned to labouring for the council. After an operation on his ulcers at the Barry Accident & Emergency Hospital Tom contracted post op. pneumonia and died. His death certificate gives the cause of death as 1a) Peritonitis, b) Volvulus (twisting of the intestine), c) Intestinal obstruction. 2) Broncho Pneumonia, chronic duodenal ulcers.
Rene bought Tom's grave at the cost of Two Pounds and Ten Shillings.

The funeral took place yesterday (Wednesday) week at Barry Cemetery of Mr Sidney Thomas Price, of 22 Edward Street, Cadoxton, who at the age of 46 died on the previous Saturday at Barry Accident Hospital.
Mr Price, who was a masons labourer, was born in Grangetown, Cardiff. He lived in Dinas Powis for a time before coming to Barry 24 years ago.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs Ethel Price, and one son, Mr Donald Price, and a daughter, Jean.
Mourners included: Mrs Ethel Price (widow); Mr Donald Price (Son); Miss Jean Price (daughter); Mr & Mrs R. Robertson, Mr & Mrs F. Norman, Mr & Mrs T. Bullock, Mr & Mrs G. Washington, Mrs Mabel Norman, Mrs Bryant, Mrs D. Priddle, Messrs D. Price, John Norman, Bob Robertson, G. Price, L. Price, F. Bullock, G. Washington, G. Norman, J. Norman, Frank Robertson, L. Dean, T. Swain, A. Thomas - Collins and many others.
Bearers were Messrs Harry Havewood, Fred Watts, Alf Pearce and S. Williams.
Funeral arrangements were carried out by Messrs W. Spickett and Son.
(The bearers were Tom's council work-mates).
Tom was buried on the 18th May 1955 at Merthyr Dyfan Cemetery, Barry, Grave Space T338. There is no headstone. To locate the grave go to the Buttrills Park end of the cemetery and in section T locate a wooden cross with the name Leslie Anthony on it. To the right of the cross is a large stone grave of Frank Chatt Collins, Tom is to the right of this grave as you are looking towards the Buttrills.
Notes for Ethel Irene Norman:
Ethel, also known as Rene was born at 24 Evans Street, Barry on the 10 May 1906, daughter of John Norman and Annie Hicks. Rene grew up with her five brothers Jack, George, William, Frederick and Albert.
Rene was very poorly as a child, she had an illness which caused her hair to fall out. Because of this illness Rene did not learn to talk until the age of ten.
Rene attended Gladstone Road School for two weeks only, she never learnt to read or write.
Rene was a domestic for the manager of Rank's Mills and also for her Auntie Honnor.
One of Rene's childhood recollections was listening to the old 78inch records on the gramophone which had a large brass horn.
Rene had two Yorkshire terriers, the mother was called Candy and the daughter, Sugar. She also had a cat called Blackie which Jean brought home from the enamel works.
Rene married Tom Price at the Cardiff Register Office on the 30 April 1932. Their son Don was born on the 1 November 1938 and their daughter Jean was born on the 16 July 1935.
The family lived with Rene's mum at 24 Evans Street until her death there in December 1938. The family had to move out of Evans Street and took up temporary residence in a number of lodgings throughout Barry until they settled at 22 Edwards Street, Barry, which had previously been rented by Tom's sister, Nelly.
Rene moved from Edward Street to Pontalun Close. Rene's final address was 16 Brecon Court.
Rene died at Llandough Hospital on the 31 October 2001. The funeral service was held at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Barry at 10.00am on the 5 November 2001, the service being officiated by Reverend G Lewis. The undertakers were Spicketts of Barry. Rene was buried with her husband at Merthyr Dyfan Cemetery, Barry, grave space T338.
