According to the Census of 1900, George Finley immigrated from Ireland to Illinois in 1856. He was married to Matilda Graham Finley for 26 years, had a total of 9 children with 7 surviving. George lists his occupation as a farmer.

George's death certificate lists John Finley as his father and his mother as unknown. He is buried in Allison Cemetery, Deer Creek, Tazewell Co, Ill. Cause of death is listed as Bright's Disease.
