The Davis Family From Somerset County, Maryland

Research for my DAVIS family has located ancestors in Maine, Maryland, Vermont, New York and New Jersey as well as Ireland, England and Alcase, France. Surnames include DAVIS, DICKMAN, HUETZ, and SPAULDING. The DAVIS name has been traced to James DAVIS in Virginia. DICKMAN is traced to Thomas DICKMAN who arrived from Scotland and settled in Augusta, Maine about 1770. Henri HUETZ arrived from Colmar, Alcase, France in September 1872 and settled in Manhatten, New York. He was a shoemaker. The SPAULDING name has been traced through Vermont to Edward Spaulding in Massachusetts
