Willie Faltermier served in World War I.He was gassed by German Troops during combat which seemed to have damaged his lungs.
He died shortly after the death of his mother in 1944.He was found sitting up outside in his underwear.
(He had trouble breathing and would often sit outside in the fresh air. )

WILLIAM FALTERMIER WORLD WAR I VETERAN BURIED AT LEHIGH SUNDAY
William Faltermier, a veteran of World War I, died at his home in Lehigh, on Thursday, September 14, after an illness of long standing.He had been ill much of the time since the last war.
Mr Faltermier was born December 27, 1895, at Lehigh, and had lived in that place all of his life, except for the time he was in the armed services in World War I.
He was 48 years, 9 months, and 16 days of age.He had lived alone since the death of his mother last April.
Surviving relatives include his father, Joe Faltermier, Sr, of Seminole, three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Paulson of Detroit, Michigan;Mrs. Idah Sanders of Muskogee; Mrs Sarah Ann Hodges of Lehigh; two brothers, John Faltermier of Lehigh and Joe Faltermier of Oakland, California.Also five nephews and three nieces.
Relatives who attended the services last Sunday were Mrs Hodges, Mrs. Sanders, Joe Faltermier and one niece, Mrs. Winifred Williams of Dayton, Ohio.
Funeral services were conducted at the Community Church in Lehigh at 2 p.m., Sunday by Rev Victor R. Hatfield of Ada.Interment was made in the Lehigh cemetery, with the American Legion graveside services.Slater's Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
