John M. Songer  Born in Virginia  1840 .Came to Arkansas 
Randolph -Lawrence Co. abt 1850.
Married Rebecca A. Lemmons or Lemons boath ways on marriage 
license from Tn. Feb 26,1861.
In Lawrence Co. Ar. Enlisted in CSA Comp G 14th Mc Carvers 
 Arkansas Infantry Regiment 
Enlisted Nov 17,1861 at Pocahontas Ar.
 His younger brother James W. Songer Enlisted 
 Aug 29,1861 at Pocahontas Ar. in the 8th Ar. Inf. Reg.
 Died before Aug 31,1862,.
John M. Went Home at the end of the war to Rebecca and 
 Two Children Julia F. and William F. 
 Became the Postmaster at Jackson ,was Postmaster in 1880 ,
 and Elected Just O Peace in Lawrence Co.1890.
Married my Fathers,  Mother and Father in 1904.
 When Rebecca died he married Sarah Pruett in Randolph Co.
 in 1878.When she died that next year he kept her son Lewis Pruitt
 to raise and married Clarice Ann Throop,Lawrence Co. Aug 07, 1879.
John and Rebecca's Children are Julia F. ,William F. ,Matilda E. ,
 James M. ,Mary J.,  Hellen-Ellen , John B.Songer.
John's Father Jacob S. Songer ,Was a Blacksmith in Va. Maby
 the Blacksmith  of Old Jackson to. Buried at OLD JACKSON with 
Wife Rebecca, Mother Matilda, Father Jacob S. and Brother Charles L.
