Notes for Alene Willa Davis:
Alene attended school through the 6th grade at Ottawa School near Woodburn, IA. She attended school at Woodburn for grades 7-12, graduating in 1933. She married William Moran on June 15, 1934, by the Justice of the Peace in Osceola. Their witnesses were Celesta Marquis and Lincoln Davis. Their daughter, Billie Lee was born March 13, 1935. Alene and William divorced a few years later. Alene and Billie lived off and on with Alene's parents, until she married Glenn Blank on September 8, 1943. Glenn passed away on January 29, 1953, and Alene never remarried. Glenn and Alene's home was in Chicago, where she worked for Swift's Packing Company until the spring of 1954. She became one of Jehovah's Witnesses on June 21, 1952. In the spring of 1954, Alene moved to Des Moines, IA, where she lived with and took care of her parents until they died. After moving to Des Moines, she volunteered as a pioneer (a full time minister of Jehovah's Witnesses).
In December, 1973, Alene moved to Carencro, Louisiana, to live with her daughter, son-in-law and grandson. She has been in a nursing home since 1992. Since 1994, she has been living in Lake Charle, Louisiana, near her grandson.
