Notes for Sarah Elizabeth Elliott: From the U.S. census records of Centre Township, Wayne County, Indiana, which was recorded in September 1850 it appears that Sarah Elliott had a twin brother whoses name was Joseph. His age in that census was 4 months. We assume that Joseph died in his early years or as an infant because he does not appear in any later public records. What remains a mystery is that Sarah Elliott's name was not recorded in that same 1850 U.S. census.
Sarah Elizabeth Elliott married contrary to discipline and was condemned for her misconduct on 8th mo, 14th, 1869 at West Grove Meeting in Wayne County, Indiana. She was known by those close to her as "Lizzie Barr".
Her mother, Mary [Haworth] Elliott was residing with her and her husband Marion Barr in Centre Twp., Wayne County, Indiana when the U.S. census of 1870 was taken.
Around 1876 Marion Barr and Sarah came to Sterling, Rice County, Kansas with their two young daughters and infant son. There her older brother William Quincy Elliott was already living with his wife and children.
