Last Will of John Calderwood
IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN: I, John Calderwood of Big Beaver Township Beaver County and State of Pennsylvania being admonished of my mortality by the frail state of my bodily health yet sound in mind memory and understanding (blessed be Almighty God for the same) do make and constitute this my last will and testament in the manner and form following: First I will and allow to my eldest daughter Jane Mc Chesney the sum of One hundred dollars likewise to her son John Mc Chesney the sum of one hundred dollars. (second) I also will and allow that Margaret Boak my daughters Daughter shall receive for her use and benefit the sum of one hundred dollars when she arrives at the age of twenty one years. (third) I will and allow that my son-in-law John Ferguson and Family shall receive the sum of two hundred dollars. (fourth) I will and allow that my son-in-law John Davis and family shall receive the sum of Two hundred dollars. (Fifth) I will and allow that the farm on which I now live shall be equally divided between my two sons in law Robert Gray and Rev. James Blackwood with this difference in favour of Robert Gray that he received the whole advantages of the farm for the present year and one hundred dollars besides. (Sixth) I will and allow that fifty dollars be appropriated to the Theological Seminary of the Reformed Presbyterian Church when it shall come into active operation and should two seminarys be located within the bounds of the Synod that this donation be given to that in the west. (Seventh) Moreover I do hereby nominate and appoint as the Executors of this my last will and testament Rev. James Blackwwood and John Mc Anlis both of the county of Beaver who shall after my decease appraise and sell my goods and chattels and from the proceeds of the same defray all my just debts and demands. I publish and declare that this and none but this to be my last will and testament.
