Includes NotesNotes for James Stewart Buck:
James Buck was found in the 1870 census records of Beaver Falls, Beaver County, Pennsylvania dated June 15, 1870. He was age 34, a minister.

While on his way to the Synod Rev. James Buck fell ill, but made his way to the home of his father-in-law John Davis. There he lingered for a few months and died of consumption on October 13, 1870. This was the home of Great Great Grandfather John Davis, who was living at that time just east of Eastbrook, Pennsylvania. At the time of his death Rev. James Buck was preaching at the Neshannock Reformed Presbyterian Church in Neshannock Township, Lawrence County, PA. He was 38 years old. (According to an obituary from the Lawrence Guardian newspaper, New Castle, PA)

"He was an able, studious and conscientious preacher of the gospel; a humble, unassuming Christian, and from a rich experience declared the truth to dying men. He was most diligent and prayerful in his work, kind and attentive to all the members of his congregation, cheerful and hopeful in every trial. In appearance he was tall, slender, bent and emaciated with disease. He often spoke with great difficulty, leaning upon a pulpit or sitting upon a chair, and his discourses were highly evangelical and deeply impressive. Among his publications are numberous letters to the Mission Board, and a posthumous tract, "Position of the Reformed Presbyterian Church," 1871, pp 16."
