Joseph Elliott (son of Mark Elliott and Mary S. Haworth) was born April 28, 1850 in Centre Township, Wayne County, Indiana, and died Bef. 1858 in Wayne County, Indiana.
Notes for Joseph Elliott: Joseph's name is found with his parents and brothers & sisters (William, Hannah, Joel, Permelia and Elton) in the 1850 U.S. census of Centre Township, Wayne County, Indiana. He was four months old. We presume he was a twin brother of Sarah Elizabeth Elliott. He did not appear in later census records. Thus we believe Joseph died as an infant or in early childhood. Joseph was not mentioned in the will of his father Mark Elliott who wrote his will in March of 1858.
It is puzzling that Joseph Elliott was not listed in the birth records of West Grove Meeting.
With almost certainty Joseph Elliott lies at rest in West Grove Cemetery where his grandparents, father and younger brother are buried. However, no marker to identify his resting place has been found in that cemetery.
