Paschal County This is to certify that Margaret Jones has appeared before us the Board of Land Commissioners for the County aforesaid and proved according to law (and proved according to law) that she arrived in this republic in the month of December (1839) eighteen hundred and thirty-nine and that she has never received a certificate for the quantity of land which she now applies for. She is entitled to a conditional grant of 640 acres of land in accordance with an act of Congress approved January the fourth Eighteen hundred and thirty-nine and the third year of the Independence of this Republic.\

County of Cass I have surveyed for Margaret Jones, 320 acres of land by virtue of Certificate No. 10 3rd Class issued by the Board of Land Commissioners for Paschal County to Margaret Jones for 640 acres of land dated the 2nd August 1841 - - situated in Cass County near the Sulpher Fork of Red River about 18 miles N 23 W from Linden and bound as follows to wit: Beginning at the NE corner a 640 acre survey bearing the name of Daniel Barcroft Sr. in the west boundary line of 640 acres in the name of William Jones on a forked red oak from which a red oak 19 19 vs marked MJ a black jack marked DB.\
Thence West on Barcrofts N boundary line 1344 vs a stake a pine N23E 13 1/2 vs a pine N6E111/2 vs marked DB. Thence North 2344 vs a stake a black jack N81E13 vs a pine S 83 degrees E91/2 vs marked MJ. Thence East 1344 vs a stake in the West boundary line of said Jones Survey a hickory S70 W 11 vs a post oak N 70 degrees E 7 vs marked MJ. Thence South 1344 vs to the Beginning.
