      9. Elizabeth Davies, born 1805 in Abertegan; died July 17, 1884 in Llanwenog,Cgn,Wales. She was the daughter of John Davies and Mary.

Notes for Thomas Davies:
Films for census in Llanwenog;
1871 Census. Film#850864.
1881 Census. Film#1342309.
1891 Census. Film#6099664.

Croesgwenllian is shown as part of a freehold hamlet, occupied by Elizabeth Davies, the landowner was a Revd.David Bowen( the Bowen family were a rich landowing family in the area) This was in1942 and the farm then covered 94 acres and the tithe rent due was two pounds & nineteen shillings each to the vicar and Herbert Evans of Highmead.
Note that in 1842 Elizabeth was a widow. She was to take a John Davies as her second husband.

Notes for Elizabeth Davies:
At the time of the 1841 census Elizabeth was a widow but all children were present in the household with the exception of the first Daniel who must have died as an infant. Also present in the household were Rachel Griffiths age 25,
John Davies age 30 and Benjamin Jones age 15. All these last three were listed as servants.
Elizabeth's father was a John Davies probably from Dole which is only a few miles from Llanwenog.
Elizabeth is buried in the Churchyard at Llanwenog aged 81 years. At time of death she lived atPeuybon,tLlanwenog.

In the Bishops Transcripts for Llanybyther there is an Elizabeth Davies bapt.Jan.16,1806 daughter of a Mary Davies. No husband was mentioned.

  Notes for David Davies:
Charlotte Green [Dibble] according to the 1861 census of Sydenham was living with her daughter and son-in law,Thomas Clifford at 52,Lower Sydenham Rd. Her place of birth is given as Taunton,Somerset.
It is intresting to note that she was only 13yrs older than her son-in-law?
As to how Charlotte was to meet Edward Green in Redbourn has yet to be
resolved.
In the 1851 census of Redbourn on Film #019362,page 28,entry 120 Charlotte is Shown as Charlotte Green a widow of 57 years residing on High Street. She is the head of the household and her occupation is that of Seamstress.
The only other person in the house is her son,Edward Carter Green aged 20 years and occupation as that of Painter & Glazier. LDS Film#0193621,1851 Census of Redbourn, Herts.(entry# 120)
After Edward;s relocation he was to become a nurseryman by trade.
Charlotte's birth place is given as Somerset and Edward's as Redbourn.
Someone has made an entry error as according to the census she was born 1793/94 whereas Parish records indicate Apr.29,1792. There is no doubt as to the validty of Elizabeth's identity.
I could not find an entry of baptism at N.Petherton and in the 1851 Census of Redbourn she is indicated as being born at Taunton,Somerset. This is entirely
possible but the Dwellys Directory states clearly that Christening was at N.Petherton on June 13,1792. Our old family records give birth date as April 29,1792.
It has been established that Charlotte died Feburary 18th,1864 at Perry Hill in Sydenham,Kent. The certificate of death was made in the District of Lewisham
and the General Rerister Office application number is G004785.

      11. Hannah Davies, born Abt. 1807 in Llanybyther,Carmarthen,Wales; died August 28, 1847 in Llanybyther,Cmn,Wales.

Notes for Owen Jones:

At the time of Mary,s birth the family was living at Pantllyn though a later check on the census showed an Elizabeth Davies aged 42 of independent means at that address. This information might carry some significance when I have time to research same.
Owen is given as the son of David Jones of Pwllybilwg. The mothers name was Sarah.
By the 1841 census Pwllybilwg was occupied by a David Davies age 55,his wife Mary also the same age. There werethree others in the household;
Margaret Davies age 30,Thomas Davies age 18 and John Davies aged 13.
Wnen Owen died in 1900 he was living at Nantygelli which is a house a few yards down the road from the Abernant residence. It has been empty for some twenty years and has recently been sold in 1996

In the 1891 census Owen Jones is listed as living at Abernantllan:
Owen Jones Head age 81 Saddler & Farmer Born Llanwenog.
William " " Son age 40 Beer Agent. married " " "
Sarah Jones Dau-in law age 33 married. eer Agent " Dihiwyd John Owen Jones Grandson age 1 " Lanwenog.

Checked with Genealogist for Will and fornd that none had been recorded. This was done on August 12,1998.

Witness at the marriage were Enoch Davies of Crugy-whil & Joshua Davies. These two bring up some interesting possibilites as to Mary,s origin.

More About Owen Jones:
Actual Tribe: November 20, 1900, Llanwenog,Cgn,Wales
Burial: November 20, 1900, Llanwenog,Cgn,Wales
Christened: January 01, 1810, Llanwenog,Cardiganshire,Wales
Occupation: Saddler/Grocer

  Notes for Hannah Davies:
On the burial record there is a note that Hannah was living at "New Inn" at time of death. What this implies I have no idea!
The marriage was conducted by the Rev.Joshua Davies ,Curate of Gnynfe who also was listed as a witness as well as Enoch Davies of Crygywheel.

It has now been established that Hannah died August 28,1837 at the age of twenty-one. Her tombstone is in the Llanfihangel-ar-Arth Churchyard and was located by Keith Lewin for me in 1999. There must have followed some medical complication after the birth of her only daughter-Mary in 1836.

More About Hannah Davies:
Burial: August 28, 1837, Llanfihangel-ar Arth Church
Christened: Abt. 1807
Fact 5: October 16, 1840, Buried at Llanwenog Churchyard

Child of Owen Jones and Hannah Davies is:
  5 i.   Mary Jones, born August 27, 1836 in Pantllyn, Llanybydder,Carmarthen,Wales; died January 16, 1900 in 3 Wentworth St,Everton,Liverpool,Lancs,England; married Daniel Davies Abt. 1858.

      12. Henry Everard, born 1825 in Long Sutton,Lincs,England; died July 01, 1867 in Poplar,Mddx,England. He was the son of Christopher Everard and Elizabeth. He married 13. Eliza Thorn July 04, 1858 in Haggerston,MDX,England.

      13. Eliza Thorn, born November 12, 1824 in Hoxton,MDX.England; died Unknown. She was the daughter of James Thorn and Mary.

Notes for Henry Everard:
I Henry died at Poplar and the executor of the Will was his brother C.S.B.Everard.
Also present in their home in the 1861 Census was a Euphemia Thompson,
servant, age 23, from Peterhead,Scotland.
It should be noted that Henry was a widower at the time he married Eliza Thorn
in 1858 and that he brought three children from his previous marriage. This can get quite confusing later as Eliza Thorn(Everard) was to marry Henry's
brother Christopher in1869 after Henry's death.
Henry died at 5 Manor Street,Poplar on July 1,867 and his brother Christopher was present at bedside.

More About Henry Everard:
Cause of Death: Pulmonary Consumption.
Medical Information: This condition had existed for two and a half years prior to death.
Occupation: 1861, Builder employing two men

  Notes for Eliza Thorn:
Just for a little confusion I have an Eliza Thorn c.Feb,6,1825 at St.Leonards,
Shoreditch. Parents-James Thorn/Mary. The date entered in the Family Gp. is probably the actual birth date. She was born on Curtain Rd.

More About Eliza Thorn:
Christened: February 06, 1825, St Leonards,Shoreditch,MDX.England

Child of Henry Everard and Eliza Thorn is:
6 i.   George James Everard, born July 03, 1861 in Poplar,Mdx,England; died Unknown; married Emma Godman Green October 03, 1881 in Surrey,Eng.
