George Buchanan & Lydia Todd Tefertiller Family

George Buchanan & Lydia Todd Tefertiller Family
George's line is of German or "Black Dutch" stock, coming from Alsace in the 1600's. The family made their way from Pennsylvania down the East Coast and into Tennessee, Illinois, Missouri and elsewhere. Originally 'Tiefenthaler,' the name means "from a deep valley" (Bavaria?). Lydia's people settled in Georgia, Indiana, etc., but especially in Tennessee. George (b. 1856, Perry Co., Illinois) & Lydia, (b. 1857, Murfreesboro, Rutherford Co., Tennessee) lived their adult lives in Missouri and Oklahoma. Cora (2nd from right, back row, b. 1883) is my great-grandmother. (Photo courtesy of Bernard Tefertiller)
