10/13/04 - 1920 Young Co. Texas Fedral Census showing Daniel B Davis and his wife Ella. Also shows two sons families John H Davis and Jim W. Davis.
8/10/04- Received a copy of a marriage license of a couple married at Daniel G. Davis' home and witnessed by Samuel B.(Baker) Davis and James Hunter. The license is of a Samuel Davis and Salley Cardine Davis. Also please note that Samuel Baker B. Davis who was the witness was married to the daughter of Daniel G Davis. There is a relationship between Daniel G. Davis and Samuel Baldwin Davis (father of Samuel Baker B. Davis)somewhere.. just need to find it. License is in below links.

9/22/03- Great News... Thanks to one of my fellow Davis researcher we have new updates to Samuels's father/mother and grandfather. William was Samuel's Grandfater, and Henry Martin Davis was Samuel's father.
Willam Davis was born 1740 in Mecklenbur Co, NC Wife Unknown
His son:
Henry was born 8/27/1767 in Mecklenburg Co, NC and died 8/18/1857 in Bellefonte, Jackson Co, Al. Wife was Margaret Price. Henry married Margaret abt. 1790 in Rutherford Co, NC. She was born abt. 1770 and tiet between 1810-1818. Samuel Baldwin Davis was their son. I will be updating my webpage to include details of all Samuels relatives, brother, uncles, etc.

Samuel Baldwin Davis was married to Nancy Bradshaw. After Samuel died she married William Hill (Davis, Nancy to William Hill 06 Jul 1853 P.111.). 1860 Jackson County Census show William Hill along with Nancy, Sarah,S.B.(Samuel Baker B. Davis), J.P. (John Patrick Davis) and D.B. (Daniel Boone Davis) along with two Garlands living there.
Also my GG Grandfather Daniel B. Davis later married Ellender Dameron (or Damron) also from Hollytree Alabama.

- Davis Cemetery - Near Hollytree, Jackson Co., Al (124 KB)
This cenetery is located in Township 3 South, Range 3 East, Section 12, near Hollytree about 1/2 miles west of State Hwy 65. The land was entered by William Davis in 1830. It is believed that Samuel B. Davis Sr. and wife Nancy are buried here in unmarked graves. Four of their children are here with marked tombstones. It needs some serious clean up and fences as cows have trashed it and owner not keeping the area protected.
