Samuel B. Davis died after the 1850 Jackson County Alabama Census and before July 6, 1853.  

On July 6, 1853 Nancy (Bradshaw) Davis, Samuel B. Davis' widow, remarried to William Hill.

J.P. Davis	14	Male (note this is John Patrick Davis)
D.B. Davis	12	Male (note this is Daniel Boone Davis)
Nancy Garland	18	Female
James Garland   12	Male 

It is interesting to note that on the 1840 Census you find a Garland living near Samuel B. Davis.  Their parents must have died and the kids came to live with William and Nancy.

Also on the same 1860 Census you find:

Henry Davis	29  	male (must have been a widower because no wife shown)

Elizabeth Davis 7	female
