| Xe Marie Sands was my paternal grandmother. Although several members of my family have been interested in collecting and preserving information about our roots, it was probably she that influenced me most. Some of the notes that I have originated with her mother. My family mainly comes from the Danbury, CT, area, and I count among my ancestors Thomas Taylor who, with 7 others, founded that town in 1684. I am related to him in several different ways. Ancestral lines that I am researching include: DAVIS, STANSFIELD, STARR/STARRE, SANDS/SANDYS, TAYLOR, MORGAN, HUBBARD, RUGGLES, GRANT, MORRIS, NOONAN, WHITE and many more. (Complete list on my home page, noted below.) These include the families of both my parents. Varying degrees of research success are evident: Knowledge of the STANSFIELD line deadends with my great-grandfather, while my paternal grandmother's family (SANDS) is traced to 14th century England! Questions about or (even better) additions to the data I will be publishing here are welcomed. (Interesting name, Xe; pronounced "ex-ee". Family tradition has it that it was found in a book of unusual names.) Email: dav4is@yahoo.com |
