Austin, Byrd, Jernigan, Langdon, Lee, Norris, Parrish, Parson, Penny, Stanley, Stewart, Temple

Burke County, NC area and surrounding counties:

Barrier, Burleson, Coleman, Franklin, Henson, Mahoney, Probst, Shuffler, Wise

Please let me know if you see errors or have additional information that I am missing. I'm sure I made lots of errors when I first started using the Family Tree Maker program.

Also, I have alot more information on scattered papers here and there that has not even made it to the computer. It's just one day at a time.

  • Descendants of Samuel Franklin (13 KB)
    Begins in late 1790's in North Carolina. I have further back but still trying to confirm with sources.
  • Descendants of John Austin (23 KB)
    This goes back to 1755 in Johnston County, NC. I believe that John Austin came from Virginia, but this is becoming very hard to prove because John Austin was a very common name during this time period.
  • Descendants of Magnolia N. Shuffler (11 KB)
    I am still working on this one. I know that Magnolia (Maggie) was definately my gg-grandmother, but I am missing documentation of her life from just after her first child (William Macon Shuffler) was born in 1880 until the 1910 Census in Gaston County, NC, where I found her married to James Coleman.
  • Descendants of William Allen Norris (14 KB)
    I have alot of information on paper that I haven't uploaded here or have confirmed. It starts back in 1830's in Johnston County, NC.
