  Notes for CATHERINE ANDRAS:
[Dawson.FTW]

Catherine Andras became a celebrity as a ceramic artist to the Court of George III. Portraits in wax of his majesty the King and of many celebrities of the day including Nelson, Wellington, Pitt, Fox, etc., were taken by her from life. It also alleges that the effigies of Nelson and Wellington, on their tombs at Westminster Abbey, were her works (see Dean Stanley's History of Westminster Abbey). Her name, as a celebrated artist, is duly recorded in the Dictionary of National Biography.
