Marlyn Allen

Marlyn Allen
Graves in Indiana John Allen was buried in the lot at the farm near Blooming Grove, Franklin Co. Ind. As her dying request, Frances Thompson Allen was taken by two of her sons on the 600 mile journey back to Indiana for burial next to her husband who had died 40 years before. Their graves are marked only by three river stones in accordance with Quaker tradition that graves should remain unadorned. Marlyn Allen of Wellman, Iowa went to the home of Edward May which is the Hays farm and the only farm in Franklin County ever owned by John Allen Jr. Approximately one mile north of Blooming Grove, Ind. He went to a spot about 75 yards north of the barn and on top of a hill, about 100 yards east of Highway 1, there was in close proximity, as if they marked graves, Three river Stones. Mr Mays said he has been told this was the Allen Burial Ground.
