The Dawson-Hiatt Family Home PageUpdated September 5, 2000 |

| I am looking for information on the Dawson and Hiatt families who settled in Carroll and Patrick Counties in Virginia late in the 19th century. Both of these families were Quaker and came to Virginia from North Carolina, in particular Guilford and Rockingham Counties. I am particularly interested in determining if there is any connection between our family and the Nantucket Quakers who migrated to North Carolina from Nantucket. My cousin John Milton Dawson is also very actively pursuing his side of the Dawson family, but working on the McMillan connection in addition to the Dawson side of his family. The work we have done to date is in our file which we have downloaded to the FTW collection. |
