I have Dawley family data back to Michael Dawley, who immigrated from Ireland to the Massachusetts Colony in 1660. He eventually settled in Rhode Island. Most of this early Dawley family is in N. Kingston, S. Kingston, and Exeter Rhode Island. My direct line then moved northwest to NY, WI, MN, WA, and AK.

Some of my material I gathered by "heresay". Other pieces I verified. My focus on verifying information has been on my direct line, however, I do have scattered verifications on other lines in the family.

Most of my recent research and verification has been for the more recent Ananias Wells Dawley (1822 - 1900) line. (He is my paternal great great grandfather.) He had two wives: 1. Mary Cresenzia Waltz of Germany and 2. Oline Erickson of Norway. I am eager for verified information on this line, his father Elijah Dawley and his grandfather Elisha Dawley. Ananias went by the name of Wells Dawley or A.W. Very few documents reflect his given name of Ananias.

NOTE: I have some old photo albums of AW Dawley's Descendants: Eliza Dawley, Minnie & Grace Holloway, Ward & Ida Folsom, etc. I'm willing to share these to anyone interested in copies.

I am interested to find the Wells connection. Throughout the past 200 years this name marries into the family. I haven't found any direct connection, although AW's daughter Ella married Harley Hanford Wells.

I also am researching the Horner line. This line is French/German, with Emil Sr. the first immigrant abt 1860 to NY and returning to Germany abt 1870. Emil is related to Jacob Horner also immigrant from France. This Jacob was known to be in Gen. Custer's army.

And, researching my maternal line, Olshaski(Olshaskie, Olshafsky, Olshasky, Oshaski) and Zubach (Zuback). Both immigrated from Slovakia abt 1860. Most settled in Alberta, Canada after trying the mid western US.
