About Our Family Research

Research is primarily directed towards the ancestors and decendants of Thomas Day of Bulls Gap, Hawkins County, Tennessee and Henry William Neal of Huron Township, Erie County, Ohio. My family research began during 1998 with the help of two distant cousins Bob Couch and Ken Felton. Ruth Ann Day Anderson of Nebraska a decendant of my grandfathers oldest brother,Clinton Day provided me volumes of Day research information she had gathered. See Bob Couch's web site:
http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com.

My Neal family research started in early 2000 with visits to the El Dorado County Historical Museum and El Dorado County Recorders office located in Placerville,El Dorado County, California. My Neal grandparents settled in El Dorado County during 1888 when they first arrived in California from Ohio via Wisconsin and Iowa. My mother, Addie May Neal was a daughter of Henry W. Neal and Angeline Pettit Neal. See Sloughhouse Area Genealogy web site, http://www.rootsweb.com/~casags/

My father,William Thomas Day was the son of Thomas Day and Sarah Smith Day who were living together in Bulls Gap, Hawkins Co., TN at the time of my fathers birth on March 10, 1862.
