Thomas Fisher was born in 1809, possibly somewhere in Maryland. His father's name may have been John Fisher, also of Maryland. He married first to a woman possibly from Brown Co., OH, there they had William born about 1835, James born about 1836, John born about 1840, VanBuren born about 1842, Thomas born about 1844 and Moses born about 1846. (The later children may have been born in Indiana). The first wife must have died shortly after the birth of Moses, Thomas married Nancy S. Henry on June 24, 1847, who was born about 1827 in VA. They had several children all born in IN, starting with Issac born about 1850, Lydia Evaline born in 1851, Francis Marion born March 1855, Joseph born about 1856, Thomas born about 1858, Sarah Adaline born November 2, 1861, George Atlanta born December 24, 1864 and Henry Kansas born January 13, 1867. Thomas and Nancey moved to Kansas and are on the 1870 census in Walnut Township, Fort Smith Co., then in an 1880 census are in Colville, Benton Co., AR.
