2. TEUNIS2 DOLSON (JAN GEVITSON1 VAN DOLSON) was born 1664, and died August 20, 1766. He married SARAH VERMILYE 1696.

Notes for TEUNIS DOLSON:
Was the first male child born in N.Y. after it was ceded to the Confederacy by the Dutch.

Teunis married Sarah Vermilye in 1696. they later lived in Westchester county and advanced to different localities up the Hudson river finally locating in and about Goshen, New York where he established the town of Dolsontown. He resided here until his death on August 20, 1766 at the age of 102.
       The Dolsons of Orange county are his descendants. Some of his children were baptized in Poughkepsie and some in Fishkill.
       The first house in Dolsontown was a log house loopholed for musketry. This house was followed by a stone house which was used as a fortification as well as a blockhouse when Indians were troublesome and during the war of 1756. Near the fortification the Indians had an apple orchard. Some of the very old trees were still standing in 1846. At times travel between Goshen, Dolsontown and Naponock was possible only under escort of soldiers on account of lurking savages.
       Teunis had several children and the family lived in and around the vicinity of Neuburgh Marlboro, where they signed the Revolutionary pledge in 1776. they and their children served in the American Army during the Revolution. After the war Teunis took up lots 118 and 390 acres in Chemung, Big Flats in 1788. His son John accompanied him. This John also served in the Revolution and the War of 1812.
