Descendants of William Wright

Generation No. 1

1. WILLIAM1 WRIGHT was born Bet. 1780 - 1795 in Hanover County, VA, and died Unknown. He married ELIZABETH OR FRANCES. She died Unknown.

Notes for W
ILLIAM WRIGHT:
Family notes indicate that William (Thompson?) Wright either was a tailor, or apprenticed to one. He is believed to have married a Miss Talley (or a Miss Hart, or was married more than once, and married both--or neither). Need much more info on that aspect. Notes indicate that Wm and wife had six children, but I have found no siblings for Henry yet. I do believe they are there--and perhaps were what drew Henry to Amherst County.
Some notes indicate William died relatively young, as notes indicate his son, Henry Talley Wright was orphaned at age 13. Written notes indicate that both *William, and his wife (Miss Talley?), died at the home of "his" son, Thomas (This, I believe is in error--perhaps on my part. I have NO info at this time to indicate where Wm. and/or wife died. However, according to the death certificate, Wm's son Henry DID die at son, Thomas' home in Nelson Co. fd). A deed of trust dated 11/25/1841, in Amherst County, VA however, indicates that a William, and wife, Elizabeth entered an indenture to Henry Talley Wright, indicating indebtedness for "kindness and attention bestowed upon them." Such a transfer upon the deaths of a husband and wife in exchange for care and attention was not unusual, and generally arose from a parent/child relationship. Henry T. Wright would have been 24 years old in 1841, and if this William is his father, that conflicts with family notes that he was orphaned at 13 yrs. (The 1850 Hanover Census lists a William Wright and a Frances Wright, along with children 16 to 8 years old--could he have re-married, or is this non-related?) Need much more solid information on William and his wife.

Notes for E
LIZABETH OR FRANCES:
Unsure of her maiden name (but an Elizabeth, is mentioned as wife of William in "The Deeds of Amherst County" by R. F. Davis: item 70, pg 280, which reports a deed of trust between Henry Talley Wright, and William Wright and his wife, Elizabeth. This deed of trust closely resembles a conditional will--"We'll leave you our possessions if you take care of us").

Marriage Notes for W
ILLIAM WRIGHT and ELIZABETH FRANCES:
William Wright and Miss Talley (?) are believed to have had six (6) children. Henry Talley Wright is the only one I have any info on.

Child of W
ILLIAM WRIGHT and ELIZABETH FRANCES is:
2. i.   HENRY TALLEY2 WRIGHT, b. February 27, 1817, Hanover County, VA; d. March 28, 1914, Nelson Co., VA.
