THE WILLIAM C. DEAL FAMILY HOME PAGE

I am researching the DEAL family that moved from Bedford County, VA to Jackson County, GA about the end of the 18th century; and, from there, to Henry County, GA (parts of which later became DeKalb County). Other Georgia families that are related by marriage include the ROWDENs of Wilkes and Gwinnett counties; the AWTREYs of Clarke and Henry Counties; and the EVERETTs of Floyd County, GA.

Ancestors from my mother's side of the family include the WILLINGHAMs of Columbia and Lincoln County, GA who moved to St. Clair County, AL in 1845.

Part of the DEAL family migrated to Tuscaloosa County, AL in 1856. Many of the DEALs still reside in the Tuscaloosa area today. My immediate family moved to Texas in 1952 (from Florence, AL), although some branches moved to Texas (and Oklahoma) in the early 1900s.

I am specifically trying to learn more about the Virginia to Georgia migration of this family who had veterans of the American Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, and several Confederate veterans of the War Between the States.

I would greatly appreciate any information offered and would gladly share what I have. I am a member of
the Dallas (TX) Genealogical Society.
