The DeBow Family are decendants of a Jan Tiebout from Amsterdam that came to the New World as a Dutch Reform Minister in the mid 1600's. After establishing a a Church he went back to Amsterdam to bring back his new wife, Sarah VanderVlucht. They had at least 12 children while living in Hackensack, NJ. As the years went on, the decendants lived in the Batavia NY area, then MI The name evolved to TeBow, than DeBow about 1765. We are also looking for Henry Tiebout who served in the American Rev. War.
