Notes for Monica (Minnie) Bureiza: Monica (Minnie) Grover, 92, of Homosassa, Fla., passed away Sunday, July 2, 2000, after a long illness. She was born Feb. 12, 1908, in Parisville, daughter of the late Frank and Rose (Schornack) Braiza. She was married to Ted Grover who preceded her in death. Her early years were spent working in the Detroit area. She and her husband were Harley-Davidson motorcycle enthusiasts. They moved to Canova, S.D., where they owned and operated Grover Pheasant Lodge and Cabins. They retired to Cape Canaveral then Zephyrhills, Fla. Later, Monica moved to Sugarhill Manor, Homosassa, to be near her niece, Eleanor Longuski Landra and her husband, Cyril, where she resided for the past 12 years. She is survived by one sister, Bernice Longuski of Bad Axe; and several cousins, nieces and nephews in Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; four brothers, infant Leo, Peter, Bernard and William Braiza and his wife, Helen; three sisters, Anastasia Voytok and her husband, Paul, Regina Bukoski and her husband, Philip, and Gertrude Braiza. Cremation took place on July 6, 2000. Funeral arrangements were handled by Wilder-Fountains Funeral Home in Homosassa Springs, Fla. Private graveside services were conducted on Thursday, July 13, 2000, with Fr. T.J. Fleming of St. John Catholic Church in Ubly officiating. As per Monica's wishes, her remains were buried at the foot of her mother's grave in the church cemetery.
