Notes for Michelle L. Affer: Michelle L. Gobie, 37, of Ubly died Sunday, Oct. 17, 1999, in Cass City from injuries sustained in an auto accident. She was born Aug. 24, 1962, in Detroit, the daughter of Ronald and Patricia (Partaka) Affer. She married Stephen W. Gobie, Sr. on Aug. 29, 1980 in Ferndale. She attended Oak Park High School. She was employed at Guaranteed Furniture Store in Berkley as a furniture restorer. She moved to Minden City in 1989, and worked at Minden City Wire. Her latest employment was at Newcor Rubber & Plastic in Deckerville. She was a Cub Scout Den Leader in Ubly. She is survived by three sons, Stephen W. Gobie Jr., Patrick Gobie and Scott Gobie, all at home; her parents, Ronald and Patricia Affer, of Minden City; five brothers, Ronald Affer and his special friend, LuAnn, of Minden City, Mark Affer of Warren, John Affer and his wife, Gwen, of Warren, Michael Affer and his wife, Kim, of Bad Axe and Edward Affer of Bad Axe; one sister, Heide Terrasi and her husband, Carl, of Minden City; her maternal grandfather, John Partaka of Palms. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Charles and Emma Affer, and her maternal grandmother, Isabel Partaka. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 21, 1999, at the Smigielski Funeral Home in Minden City. Pastor Ellen Burns of the Minden City United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Minden City Cemetery. Visitation is from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, noon to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday and 9:30 a.m. to the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to be given to the Gobie Children's Trust Fund.
