Peter Charles Dooley (son of Richard Francis Dooley and Alice Cleary) was born April 15, 1889 in North Adams, MA, and died July 07, 1946. He married (1) Lillian Nunn. He married (2) Ruby A Drew on September 12, 1926 in Hudson, Mass, daughter of Gardner Edwin and Martha Amanda Anderson.

Peter Charles Dooley attended grade schools and Drury High school, in North Adams, MA When 17 years of age, he began learning the printer's trade as an employee of William Roberts, in the Excelsior Print office in North Adams. He then went to Boston, Mass, where he was employed by Salem Towne for several years. He subsequently was supt. of the Hudson (Mass.) Printing Co., after which he was in charge of the Perry Eastbrook Press, in Cambridge, MA. His next position was in New York City where he was employed on a newspaper. In 1920, he came to Ft. Wayne, Ind., to serve as manager of The General Printing Corporation of Ft. Wayne. He became president. of the firm in 1921, and in 1926 acquired the controlling interest, which he held at the time of his death, which occurred July 17, 1946, The business was incorporated in 1917 under the name of The General Printing Corporation of Ft. Wayne. Prior to that time it had been known as the Archer Printing Co. and as the Indiana Printing Co. Mr. Dooley reorganized and improved the business, installing new machinery. The company engages in commercial printing and in specialty work, including the printing of paint chip cards for paint manufacturers and dealers. There are only two other firms engaging in this kind of printing in the U.S. The business now is operated by Mr. Dooley's widow, Ruby Anderson (Drew) Dooley, who is President of the firm. Mr. Dooley served at one time as director. of the Old-First National Bank & Trust Co. He assisted in founding the North Side State Bank of which he served as Vice President. He was also vice president of the Hartford City (Ind) Paper Co. He was a director. of the Community Chest and of the Ft. Wayne Charity Horse Show. He was active in the Kiwanis Club. He was a Republican and a member of the following: Maumee Lodge No. 725, F. and A.M., Consistory (32nd Deg.) and Mizpah Temple Shrine; C. of C.; Orchard Ridge County Club; Y.M.C.A.; and Indiana Saddle Horse Assn. He attended the Plymouth Congl. Church. He was a horse fancier. he owned 400 acres of land located in Aboite Township., Allen Co., Ind. where he engaged the breeding of saddle show horses. He especially enjoyed his farm. (Citizens Historical Association Indianapolis; May 3, 1947; No. AGA/DLH).
