      5. Albert2 Tilley (Charles1) was born January 30, 1859 in Wales, and died January 12, 1939 in Cambria Co., PA. He married Mary Ann Lloyd 1879 in Houtzdale, Clearfield Co., PA, daughter of Richard Lloyd and Georgianna James. She was born July 03, 1869 in Bufford, Wales, and died August 10, 1928 in Johnstown, Cambria Co., PA.

Albert Tilley, who would have been 80 years old on January 30, died at Memorial Hospital at 4:45 o'clock this morning. He was admitted in the institution yesterday as a medical patient, being taken ill at the home of his daughter Mrs. Margaret Custer, 195 David St, Dale, with whom he resided. Arrangements for services are incomplete, but the rites will be held Sunday with Interment at Mundy's Corner.
Mr. Tilley was born in Wales, a son of Charles and Elizabeth (Nash) Tilley and was brought to this country as a child. He worked in Cambria County mines for years but gave up that pursuit many years ago. For a long time he was boiler master at the Y. M. C. A. here, retiring four or five years ago because of age.
Mr. Tilley's wife, Mrs. Mary A. (Lloyd) Tilley preceded him to the grave. Surviving are these children:
Elizabeth, wife of Samuel Davis, Mundy's Corner; Charles E Tilley, Upper Yoder Township; Richard Tilley, Midland, PA; Mrs. Georgeanna Rowland, Midland; Ruth, wife of M. H. Rorabaugh, 562 Cambria Avenue; Hattie, wife of Webster Pringle, until recently of Maryland; Nellie, wife of Simon Eckenrode, Bon-Air, and Mrs. Custer, with whom he made his home. Mr. Tilley was the grandfather of Dr. Harvey C. Tilley, PhD of the Franklin Borough Schools.
Mr. Tilley was a member of the Moxham Evangelical Church.

Mrs. Albert Tilley

Mrs. Mary Ann Tilley, wife of Albert Tilley of 1?? David street, Dale, died last evening at the Memorial Hospital where she had been an invalid for some months. Mrs. Tilley was in her 69th year. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Conemaugh Methodist Episcopal Church by the pastor, the Rev. R. H. Ling and the Rev. C. L. Moore, a former pastor of the Conemaugh charge, but now of Marion Center, PA. Interment will be in Munday's Cemetery in Jackson Township. Six grandsons of the deceased will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Tilley was born in Bufford, Wales, July 3, 1869, the daughter of the late Richard Lloyd and Georgianna James, and with her parents came to the United States at the age of four. In 1879, at Houtzdale, Pa she was united in marriage with Albert Tilley. Thirty years ago Mr. and Mrs. Tilley located in Johnstown.
Mrs Tilley was active in the work of the Conemaugh Methodist Church being a member of the Ladies Aid Society and the Women's Foreign Missionary Society.
Besides her husband, she is survived by the following children: Charles W. Tilley, Roxbury; Mrs. Georganna Rowland, Canton, O., Mrs. Samuel Davis, Mundys Corner, Mrs Samuel Eckenrod, Bon Air; Mrs. C. W. Pringle, ????, Md, Mrs. Irvin Custer, 195 David Street, Richard W. Tilley, Middletown, Pa, and Mrs. M.H. Rorabaugh, Roxbury. She also leave two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth N??trour, Philadelphia and Mrs. Ellen ??? of Gary, Ind., 82 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Miss Harriet Tilley, daughter of Albert Tilley of Franklin Borough and Webster Pringle of Conemaugh, were married last Thursday evening at the parsonage of the United Brethren Church at Conemaugh by the Rev. B. L. Seneff, pastor of that congregation.

She was born July 1863 in Dixonville, Indiana Co, PA, and died January 06, 1921 in Johnstown, Cambria Co., PA. He married (2) Annie Andrews April 18, 1923 in Johnstown, PA.

Samuel Tilley, who made his home in Lower Yoder Township for a long time, died last evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Elmer Shirey of Bon Air, above Franklin Borough; where he had been ill of a complication of disease for sometime. The body was removed by Undertaker Carl Davis this morning to the Tilley home along the Mountain road above Morrellville, where the funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon by the Rev J. C. Brown, pastor of the Calvary Methodist Episcopal Church, with interment in Headricks Cemetery.
Samuel Tilley was born in South Wales 61 years ago. He was brought to America three years later and worked for a number of years as a miner in Pennsylvania*. He was a member of the Calvary M. E. Church and held membership in Corona Lodge No. 999, IOOF The first wife of Samuel Tilley died seven years ago. Five years later he and Mrs. Annie Andrews were united in marriage. The latter survives him. Mr. Tilley also is survived by three children: Ida, wife of Elmer Shirey, Bon Air; Harry, Bon Air, and Frank, who is traveling in the West. Two brothers, Charles, of Conemaugh and Albert, of Dale also survive, together with one sister, Mrs. Harriet Bobe, of Bon Air, and five grandchildren.

Funeral of Mrs. Tilley

Funeral services for Mrs. Samuel Tilley, whose death occurred at noon on Tuesday, will be held at 1 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the Tilley home in Bon Air, above Franklin Borough, and will be in charge of the Rev. W. F. Seitter, of the Conemaugh Methodist Episcopal Church with burial in Headrick's Cemetery. The deceased, whose maiden name was Caroline Bookemyer, was born at Dixonville, Indiana County, in July 1863. Her father died seven or eight years ago at Houtzdale, this State. She is survived by her husband, her mother, three brothers, two sisters, three children and three grandchildren. The children are Mrs. Elmer Shirey and Harry and Fred Tilley, all of Bon Air. Her mother is almost a centenarian.

Charles Tilley, on of the janitors of the Franklin street Methodist Episcopal Church, and Mrs. Annie Andrews, of 746 Railroad street were married last night at the Methodist parsonage, 135 Franklin street, by the pastor, the Rev. Dr. Samuel McWilliams, in the presence of a large delegation from the Ladies' Aid Society of the local parish. There were no attendants. Mr. and Mrs. Tilley will make their home in the Ninth Ward.

(This announcement is confusing. Samuel had a brother named Charles who worked as a janitor at the church mentioned.)

Emanuel Albert Tilley, aged 26 years, died this morning at 8 o'clock at his home, 824 Huber Street, Ninth Ward, after a few weeks illness of heart trouble. He was a clerk in the Washington Street office of the Cambria Steel Company and was compelled to leave his desk early in November. The deceased was born November 14, 1892 at Brisbin, Clearfield County, and was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Tilley of Bon-Air, above Franklin Borough who removed to this city about 1898. The deceased and Miss Anna Wiesheier, of Conemaugh Township, were married on July 14, 1914. She survives him with his parents, a sister, Mrs. Elmer Shirey of Bon-Air and two brothers, Fred Tilley, at home, and Harry Tilley who is with the American Expeditionary Forces in England. Mrs. Sara. T. Hildebrand who died in Moxham two weeks ago, was a sister of the deceased. The funeral arrangements will be announced later.
