| Greetings,Some of the families I'm researching are: CARR- Caleb Carr emigrated from England with his brother, Robert, in 1635. He became Colonial Governor and died in office in 1695. My Carr line moved from R.I. to Massachusetts, New York, and ended up in Kalamazoo, Michigan. My line comes down through his son, John, b. 1731. --------------------------------------- DYMOND/DYMON/DIAMOND-Can. toRochester, NY to Allegan County, MI. The Dymonds and Schoolcrafts seem to have been together back in Stanbridge, Quebec, Canada as far back as 1831. William Peters b. 1793 married Sarah Bashford and they had 14 children; Mary Ann, Daniel Hignut, Elizabeth, Jane, George, Solomon M., John, Israel, William, David, Luke, James, Martha & Sarah. Some of the children ended up in Wapello, Iowa. My line is through Solomon and his wife, Letitia Shoemaker. I believe Letitia's parents were Henry and Synthia SHOEMAKER. ------------------------------------ DeHAAN of Kalamazoo, MI. The DeHaan/de Haan family came from Groningen, Netherlands, to Kalamazoo, MI in 1887. John/Jan DeHaan married Aaltje TenCate and had the following children: Gerhard b. 1866, Egbert b. 1867, Geert b. 1869, Louka F. b. 1870, Anno b. 1873, Steven b.1876 & Andries b. abt 1878 (Andries died in the Netherlands before the family emigrated).
