I am researching my ancestors and have, with help from my paternal grandmother, traced the family back eight generations through her parents to the Netherlands in the Eighteenth century. I am almost completely lacking, however, information regarding my grandfather's family (The DeHoags). My grandfather, Charles John DeHoag Jr. was born in 1921 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. His parents were Charles John DeHoag and Jessie Watson. I am pretty sure he had a brother, Frederick Charles DeHoag, who moved to Kentucky. My grandfather's mother, Jessie Watson (DeHoag) passed away when he was just seven years old, and his father remarried. My grandfather passed away in 1996. My grandmother, Arlene Mulder (DeHoag) knew little else about the DeHoag ancestry, except that my great-great grandfather was an insurance agent named John, and that the surname a long time ago was DeHoog. I need help researching the DeHoags, and would like to know anything about the DeHoags that ended up in Michigan, and would especially like to find out about the ancestor who changed the surname from DeHoog to DeHoag. I am willing to share any information I have with interested persons, although I will be including most of it on this home page. |
