| I am researching my family that came from Mexico and the earliest record is found in the first archive book (Libro #1 - Folio 58) of the Cathedral in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico. The record shows the marriage in July 13,1815, between Bernardo Garcia, son of Noverto Garcia and Jesusa de la Garza, and Juliana Lopes, daughter of Agustin Lopes and Calletana Ynojosa. I am able to trace the births or baptisms, as well as marriages for certain branches of that family from that time to the present. Information regarding Garcia, Saldana, or Figueroa families from Northern Mexico or South Texas would be appreciated. |
