Notes for MINNIE ANTOINETTE LEE:
It is believed that Minnie's ancestor, Lancelot Lee, b Havana (Montour Falls), Schyler, New York, was in the Norman invasion of Britain in 1010.

A Frenchman, the Duke of Montour, came to America at the instigation of M. de Lafayette. He remained in the US, and married a young native American girl, a daughter of a Seneca chief. They had one daughter, Catherine Montour, who married William Lee. One of William's two brothers settled in Virginia and was the ancestor of Robert E. Lee.
