The forebear to whom I can trace my ancestry was John George de la Hoyde born in Dublin in 1804 who went out to Madras India with the Horse Artillery of the Honourable East India Company. He married Olivia Pritchard. He died at Madras in 1839. I am as yet unable to trace his ancestry in Ireland.
My family were in India until 1947 when we emigrated to England. Other families to whom I am related from India are: Dinwiddie, Honey, Hart, Pritchard, Burke, Duncan, Hawkins; and in England: Peckham, Whitwell.
