Family Tree Maker's Genealogy Site: User Home Pages: The Roy Harper Family of Midwest City, Oklahoma


I have been delighted to meet a lot of new "cousins" since starting on this journey of discovery for my family roots. I love hearing from people and enjoy sharing photos and information. Also check out my other web site - the link is at the bottom of this page. For much of my information on my family history I give credit to research done by my late aunt, Mabel Harper Motes. On my grandfather Rev. Ira Thomas Harper's paternal side, we have gone back to William Harper Sr., born between 1750-1760 in Maryland, died after 1830 in Tennessee. I am interested in any information on his ancestors and any information on his wife (possibly Nancy Griscom, born in Maryland). On my grandfather's maternal side, I have gone back to John Roby (1455-1515, Castle Donington, England) and James Beall (before 1625, Scotland). I'm interested in filling in the blanks along that line. I'm also interested in Grandmother Euna Grace Taylor Harper's family. On her maternal side, I have gone back to Thomas Younger (1791) and wife Elender London (1805) with a few of her ancestors (back to Amos London (1737-1805, North Carolina)- and some of his. On Grandma Harper's paternal side, I have gone back to William F. Taylor (1834-1917, b. Tennesse - d. Oklahoma), wife Eliza Jane Keeling, and William's parents, William Taylor (1813-1831) and Rebecca Moody (1815-1910, b. NC, d. Arkansas)- and Eliza's ancestors back to Thomas Keeling and Catherine Ball (and some of Catherine's ancestors). Other names in lineage - William Riley Ross, Phoebe Morris, Mayberry (Maybury), Martha Files, Nathan Henson, Rachael Barnes. I am a novice, so I request that you use my info as a starting point and search out the documentation. Artemissa Viola Ross and daughter Rena Harper (66 KB) This is my grandfather, Ira Thomas Harper's, mother (Artemissa Viola Ross Harper) and his sister (Rena Harper) Picture of Eliza Jane Keeling Taylor (28 KB) This is a picture of Grandma Euna Taylor Harper's grandmother, Eliza Jane Keeling Taylor (her father's mother). She was a big Irish woman, said to be 6 feet tall and about 200 lbs. Levi and Lillie Belle Taylor's family (36 KB) This is Levi Mitchell Taylor with his wife, Lillie Belle Adams Taylor, and their children. The little girl sitting on Levi's lap is Edna Taylor Sims. Levi Mitchell and Lillie Belle Adams Taylor (33 KB) Levi and Lillie were Grandmother Euna Harper's uncle and aunt. Levi was her father Amos Russell's brother. Lillie Belle Adams Taylor and Edna Taylor Sims (44 KB) This was Grandma Euna Harper's aunt and 1st cousin.
