I am researching the following family members:
McKENZIE/MacKENZIE family who immigrated from Canada to northern Michigan in the mid-1800's.

*Edward McKenzie, wife was Elizabeth, lived in Newaygo County Michigan in 1880. Children were John F., Arvilla L., Addie E., and George E.

*John McKenzie, wife was Mary Schmidt, lived in Freemont and Bristol area of Michigan, and in 1900 lived in Mackinac County Michigan. Children were George E., Lewis A., Ruth A., and Charles W.

ALKIRE family members who traveled from northern Kentucky, Ohio, and Michigan.

*Clark Alkire, wife was Lena Kenel, lived in Mancelona Michigan in early 1900 and later moved to Mackinac County Michigan.

SOELTNER family members originally came to US from Bavaria. Lived in Detroit Michigan for very short time in early 1880's. Moved to Moran Michigan (Jacob City) as part of German Land Grant in 1885.

*Phillip Soeltner, wife was Anna Kruger, one son Joseph.

GARRETT family members came from County Down Ireland, by way of Lower Canada, and later to Sault Ste Marie Michigan.

*William Garrett, wife was Margaret, with three sons, James, Robert, Alex. Family lived in Huron Twp, Kintail, and Colburne Twp.

*James Garrett, wife was Catherine Rose, lived in Thessalon Canada in 1897. Moved to Sault Ste Marie Michigan in 1899.
