I am researching the DELAMATER family (especially from Upstate New York). Claude LeMaitre, the orginal ancestor of all who inherit the DeLaMater name in the United States, settled in the Flatbush area of New York in 1652. Claude was married to Hester DuBois in Amsterdam, Holland in April of 1652 before coming to the United States. I am especially interested in any information on a George R. DeLaMater born 1827 and his family. George was married to Sila Sykes, born Feb 25, 1848. Any information would be appreciated. I am also willing to share the information that I have. |
