Welcome to the Castro-Dellone home page! We may not really be Dellone's--It may have been changed from Dillon. My (Lisa's) maiden name is Castro.
Surnames in our family include: DELLONE, CASTRO, SCHMIDT, TRIPP, BENEPE, RUDOLPH, LEMON, RICHEY, CARROLL, DENBO, MCCONKIE, HONIG, WRATHMAN, HENZE, LUMLEY, MACGREGOR, MILLER, PUMPIN, POWE, HOWE, WOLFE, WARFIELD and many more!
I have been trying to research the Dellone's, but it's a rocky road. Daryl's grandfather was Roy Hal Dellone...or so he thought. I sent away for the marriage certificate for Roy Hal Dellone and Louise Frances Honig. When it came, it said that Roy was really Alexis P. Dillon! And yes, he was married to Louise Francis Honig. It showed her correct parents and it showed the correct time of their marriage. Then I remembered that we have a had written scroll of their marriage information. As I looked at it, it became very obvious that the brown ink had been rubbed off and the surface of the paper was rough. The name "Alexis" had been turned into "Hal" and the initial "P" had been turned into "Roy"--so it read "Hal Roy Dellone." (An easy thing to explain away--many people go by their middle name.) The last name, "Dillon", had been altered by turning the "i" into an "e" and an "e" was added to the end to spell "Dellone." He may have gotten away with this during his lifetime, but now the ink has faded and the two colors faded differently. Interestingly enough, "Roy Hal Dellone" said that he had worked at the Dellone Hotel in Lincoln, Nebraska. Records show there was a Dellone Hotel. Roy said it was owned by his uncles. So was he a Dellone or a Dillon? I have yet to find out. Any info would be greatly appreciated!
I am also lacking most of the information for my mother's side of the family. She is Jerrie Ridley (Tripp)Castro. Her father was Russell Ridley Tripp and her mother was Dorothy Sabina (Benepe) Tripp. We are related to Rob Roy MacGregor on this side of the family.
I am also missing a lot of Castro information. I can't go back past my great-great grandfather. Please e-mail me if you have info. We are related to President Truman on this side of the family--but I don't know how. I know it is through the Richey's.
