Coronel in the war of Independence. He was appointed by General Antonio
Maceo. He was very dedicated to the war of independence and his whole
family wasin it to. His wife and two daughters and two sons.
He was inducted along with his two sons on the same day January 6, 1896.
Carlos lost his life in thebattle of Cacarajicara May 1 a year and 7
months before his sons had their final battle. Antonio Maceo wrote his
wife and in the letter he said that, if he "had a army of men like
Socarras, the war would have been over already."

Socarras as his second last name. I have Acosta as his second last name.
