Research on the Del Chiaro Farmily covers information dating back to 1885. It was the year that Francisco Del Chiaro and Angelina Landucci arrived in the United States on the Steamship Normandie in the port of New York on April 20, 1885, 8 days from Le Harve, France, place of origin for passengers was Italy and final destination was California. Ellis Island was not used for immigration at that time.

The information on the Del Chiaro Family Tree contains records gathered on the Inter-Net for purposes of research on the Del Chiaro Genealogly.

Francisco Del Chiaro was born in Lucca city central of Lucca Province, in Tuscany Region. The city is a marketing center for olive oil, vegetables, and wine. Industries include the manufacture of tobacco products, food products, textiles, paper and furniture. Lucca encircled by a 16th century wall, contains several Romanesque buildings, including the Catherdral of San Martino begun in 1063. Settled by Liquria, Lucca was a Roman town. As a free commune from the 12th Century, its commune and arts flourished. It later became (1369) a republic, and then a principality and dukedom before it was rejoined with Tuscany in 1847. Population 1990 estimated to be 86,600.

We know that Francisco married Angelina Landucci in Lucca some time before 1873. They had (2) sons, Lorenzo born in 1873 and Ferdinando born in 1874. Francisco Del Chiaro probably worked in the vineyards or something in manufacturing. In any event the family began their journey to the United States in 1885.
