Our search grows from the marriage of Michael
Delaney to Jane McCanty in Malone, New York, on November 24, 1853. From this beginnnig the road leads through New York, Iowa, Michigan, Illinois and Massachusetts, among other places. It is believed that both Michael and Jane were immigrants from Ireland who arrived in the United States not too long before they were married. Their only child, John Henry Delaney, was born in about 1856.
