Originally, it was thought that Ammon McCoy and Nathaniel McCoy were children of William McCoy but later info has proven this is not the case.
Bible records show that Ammon And Nathaniel, brothers, travelled to Kentucky together in the early 1800s. Nathaniel settled in Hardin co. Ky.
This info is taken from Nathaniel and Jane.s bible. It was given to Thomas Buckner McCoy after the death of Jane and Nathaniel in 1880. When Buck left Hardin Co. in 1900 he carried it with him. He gave it to his Daughter Lona McCoy Trotter. She lived in Holdenville Ok. Lona trusted it to her daughter Mary Elizabeth Hensley in McAlister Ok.
It has been told that Nathaniel traded a good hunting Rifle for 100 acres of land on which he and Jane lived their life. They had come to Hardin Co. to look for some land that could be aquired for nothing. They were camping under a grove of trees with thee family. This elderly man offered him the land for the Gun. He obtained the Squatters rights to the land, as it was a Revolutionary Land Grant given to Phillip Barbour. Nathaniel was later sued in 1862 for the land so he paid $100.00 for the land to obtain a deed. He built a two room house with a room in the attic and a fire place at each end of the house. One fire place for cooking and one for heating. It was here he raised hios family

Ammon and his Brother Nathaniel left Virginia and came to Ky. together. Ammon settled in Breck. Co Ky and Nathaniel settled in Hardin Co. Ky.
