Some of my primary surnames are: Boehm of Thuringen, Germany and later Cook County, Illinois; Dumbeck of Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany and later Blue Earth County, Minnesota; Loetscher of Switzerland and later of Brown County, Ohio and then Dodge County, Minnesota; Rehberg of Mecklenburg-Schwerin and Brandenburg, Germany and later Blue Earth County, Minnesota; Schnathorst of Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany and later Jasper County, Iowa and Becker County, Minnesota; South of Warwickshire and Northamptonshire, England, then Rock Island County, Illinois and Jasper County, Iowa; Walker of County Fife, Scotland, with immigrant ancestor James Walker coming to the U.S. as a British soldier during the Revolutionary War captured at Saratoga in 1777; and the Ward family of Washington County, New York and Bennington County, Vermont, and later Blue Earth County, Minnesota.
